The second dutch telco launches digital TV, as the first By gaining the rights for broadcasting of the dutch premier league the company was entitled to roll out a digital tv platform within 8 months. The system implemented was suited for multicasted MPEG2 streams over IP/ADSL, but also a real VoD system based on MPEG2 streams over IP/ADSL. The whole system is designed and implemented in a way the provisioning is from order to delivery fully automated. Only the real physical (cabling) parts need human involvement. In this scale it has been one the first implementations in the world.
